As there will be no extra-curricular activities taking place at lunchtime on the final day of term, we have decided to shorten the lunch break on that day and therefore bring the last lesson of the day forward so that the school day can finish at 3.00pm instead of 3.30pm. This will give staff additional time to clear up at the end of a very busy term and still get home at a reasonable time.
In order to facilitate this, we have arranged for all the normal school buses and taxis to come in time to collect the students at 3.00pm on Wednesday 20 December. Thus all students who normally travel home by school
transport will simply arrive home about half an hour earlier than usual on that last day of term. We ask that all students who are normally collected by parents are collected at the earlier time of 3.00pm too. The Headteachers of all the primary schools in our cluster are also aware of, and in agreement with, these arrangements.
Next term starts for all students on Thursday 4 January, and it will still be ‘Week A’, as we only get half of ‘Week A’ in the last week of this term. I look forward to working with you all again in the New Year, and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas holidays.
