World Book Day
On Thursday 2nd March we recognise World Book Day.
An annual event, World Book Day is a celebration! It's a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it's a celebration of reading. In fact, it's the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world!
Prince William School English Department are running a series of activities on Thursday 2nd March to celebrate the occasion with a view to encouraging students to read and explore literature in increasingly creative ways.
In addition, we will also be holding the following events to raise funds for three educational and literacy based charities:
1. Cake sale and Willy Wonka themed pop up sweet store
2. Year 7 Scavenger Hunt with books and edible treats for the winning team.
3. Form time activities: KS3 create a book mark, KS4 'Name that book' quiz
4. Raffle - prizes are £10 Amazon voucher; Michael Morpurgo book box set and other assorted treats. Students will be visiting all form groups in morning registration to sell tickets.
