PWS Schools Cluster Netball
The Prince William Primary Schools Cluster Netball competition took place featuring twelve teams from the feeder primary schools. Children from across all East Northants took part in the competition hosted at Oundle School. The event was organised by the Corby, Oundle and Thrapston School Sports Partnership – Northamptonshire Sport as part of the local School Games calendar of opportunities.
The competition saw a guest appearance from Oundle Schools 1st team Netball captain and vice-captain who came along to umpire and to talk with the children. As well as these students, Sienna motivated the children with details of her recent success after being awarded the chance to represent England in Netball.
The competition saw Prince William School, Sports Leaders helping to run the competition as part of the leadership programme offered to students. After a competitive round of fixtures, Thrapston Primary School eventually came out victorious after they narrowly beat Polebrook Primary in a pulsating final. The competition saw Nassington and Polebrook B team finish in joint 3rd place. Overall, over 100 children represented their schools in Netball for the first time and will look to progress in the sport, through their school and local clubs.
Next week, we see over 200 children competing for the local Tag Rugby titles at Oundle Rugby club where children from Years 7-11 will be looking to take the 2017 title.
