THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD

Information Evening on Wednesday 20 September at 6.30 pm

We are pleased to be able to offer students in Year 9 the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze level. To help you and your child decide if they would like to participate we would like to invite you to an Information Evening on Wednesday 20 September at 6.30 pm in the Gym.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an adventure which gives young people the opportunity to enjoy loads of new experiences. You will discover new talents, meet new people and overcome some difficult challenges. You can also make a difference to other people’s lives and give something back to the Community you live in. You will gain a nationally recognised award which will give you the skills and confidence that Universities and employers are looking for.

We will be giving you details of what is required to complete the Award at the information evening, but, please visit the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme website www.dofe.org for full details of what is involved in each section.

At Prince William School, we guide students through the different stages of the award, train them in the skills needed to complete an expedition and provide an opportunity for them to complete that expedition. We also monitor students’ progress with the award using the electronic eDofE system. There is no doubt, students will need to show commitment to the award and an ownership of it. No-one can do your DofE for you, but we will give every student the support they need to succeed.
