Year 10/11 Students meet Guest Chef

A group of talented students met with the award winning chef Jack Godfrey.

A group of talented Year 10/11 students met with the award winning Chef Jack Godfrey.

Chef Godfrey was able to deliver a workshop for talented trainee chefs, at the end of January in the Food Department.

The students were able to prove their skills whilst Jack casted his trained eye on their efforts. Jack was impressed enough to suggest that all would be equipped with the necessary know how to succeed in the culinary world.

Careers advice was also given, with students given a chance to quiz our esteemed guest on information about which courses to consider and how to approach local well known businesses when applying for employment opportunities.

The evening was concluded by Jack awarding Katie her first prize citation for the 'Future Chef' competition. She came second last year to another participant, Joe and I am delighted to state that Katie has also successfully applied and been offered a place at the prestigious Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, at Birmingham University. Thanks go to Chef Jack Godfrey, Mrs Dymydiuk and of course the talented students who attended the evening.

On another note, the Year 10 group has room for more members. We are currently following the exploits of our very own British Astronaut, Tim Peake, as part of the 'Cosmic Classroom' and will looking to arrange a trip to the UK Space Centre in the summer term.
