Oundle student selected for Great Britain under-17 fencing squad

Rachael Lever joins GB fencing squad.

Rachael Lever, is a Year 10 student at Prince William School.  She has been selected to fence for Great Britain as part of the Under 17 squad. Rachael is one of the youngest members of the squad. Her first competition representing Great Britain will be in Espoo, Finland in November.

Rachael started fencing five years ago when attending Oundle Middle School and currently trains at OPS Epee Club in Oundle. Rachael also helps coach younger fencers at an After School Club run by Chris Howser ex Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist. Rachael was British Champion of the Under 12’s, and was part of the England under 15 team.   She now fences for Scotland in Under 15’s, and is currently under 15, 17 & 20 National Champion. Rachael was also part of the team that won the British School National Championship 4 years ago.

In the short term she hopes to represent Scotland at the School Games and in 2018 Cadet & Junior Commonwealth Games.
