Key Stage 4
At Key Stage 4 students will embark on the Design Technology GCSE as proscribed by the OCR Examination Board.
This course offers a foundation in the principles and iterative design practices of various 21st century design and manufacture industries. The qualification offers flexibility in the approach students use to apply knowledge and understanding of these practices and principles when designing and making prototypes that solve real and relevant problems.
During this time, we build on and develop the skills taught throughout Key Stage 3 enabling students to complete the non-examined assessment (NEA) and written examination paper with confidence. Both components of this course contribute 50% each to the students’ final grade.
