Prince William School

School Council

Thirteen Year 10 students were invited to Thrapston Primary School to assist with British National Science Week.  Students took on the role of Science teachers, carrying out practical experiments for Year 3 children, explaining the science behind what they saw and answering questions. Experiments included endothermic reactions, chromatography of smarties, forces, volcanoes, amazing milk and making lava lamps.

Our students found the children at Thrapston very enthused by science and answered lots of questions about what was happening and why. Year 3 students were amazed by the experiments conducted and listened well asking intelligent questions about the science. They showed an increasing understanding of concepts like density and forces.

When asked, several of the Primary students declared that they would now like to become scientists when they were older.

A big well done to all those Year 10 students who represented Prince William School.
