Corby, Oundle and Thrapston School Sports Partnership

Prince William School is the host School for the Corby, Oundle and Thrapston School Sports Partnership (COTSSP).  As part of Northamptonshire Sport, COTSSP works with all 39 primary, secondary and specials Schools in Corby and North East Northants region on the delivery of the School Games program.

The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire all of the children to take part in more competitive school sport and create a fitter healthier community for the local area.

The Northamptonshire School Games is part of a national programme of competitive sport that is open to all young people in every school across Northamptonshire. It is a celebration of competitive sport that involves young people aged 5-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds.

The Competitive School Games programme is made up of four levels of competition:

  • Level 1: Competition within a school i.e. regular house competitions
  • Level 2: Competitions between local schools i.e. cluster/partnership events
  • Level 3: County culmination of inter-school competitions
  • Level 4: National multi-sport event

Locally Levels 1 and 2 are coordinated by Mathew Peleszok, School Sports Manager of COTSSP, with the Level 3 competition managed by Northamptonshire Sport. The Northamptonshire School Games provides schools the chance to boost their existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.

Primary School Games Calendar - Prince William School hosts 15 opportunities for the feeder primary schools to attend the school in preparation for their transition into the school.   These opportunities vary from Competitive events, Change4Life festivals and training as well as Young Leaders training.

Secondary School Games Calendar - Prince William are key delivers of the Secondary School Games programme alongside 5 other local secondary schools.  COTSSP offer 20 competitive opportunities throughout the year for secondary age students and support the training of young leaders within Prince William School.

COTSSP Healthier Child Scheme - Funded through Public Health, the Healthier Child Scheme aims to reduce and prevent childhood obesity and increase levels of physical activity. The scheme comprises of a number of interventions which schools can access to promote an active, healthier lifestyle to their children.
