Prince William School

KS3 Curriculum

In Year 7 we begin the academic year with a consideration of important basic geography skills including mapping and interpretation of information. Following on from this we move into a unit considering places around the world, named ‘Fantastic Places.’ From a focus on various places we move to a consideration of one continent- Africa. We end the year looking at a physical topic and looking at how the coast is formed and how people use and protect it.

In Year 8 we start the year looking at a unit on globalisation and development. It requires students to think about the differences in their lives compared to those in other parts of the world. After this ‘human’ focussed topic we move to a unit looking at ice environments and thus culminates in a comparison to another ‘desert’ environment.  The final unit considers tourism and its different forms.

Year 9 have opted for a GCSE course – see Key Stage 4 information.
