Prince William School

Music School

Nene Valley Music and Performing Arts Centre (NVMPAC) was formed by Vincent Davey - the former Head of Music at Prince William School in the late 1970’s, The Centre has continued to flourish being a hub for music and other performing art to students from schools in the Oundle and Thrapston area.

As part of the award winning and nationally recognised Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust, students from as young as five year are able to experience a wide range of activities, and explore and develop their interests in the performing arts.  The Centre meets during term time at Prince William School and performances take place both at the school and at other venues locally. Our emphasis is placed on developing and enhancing group and ensemble skills. Activities include 'Young Performers' for our very youngest members, through to beginners wind and brass, Young Blowers and Concert Band for budding young brass and woodwind musicians, Young Blowers and String Sinfonia for string players, Rock School for budding young Mick Jagger's, Jazz Band for aspiring Louis Armstrong’s, Drama and Musical Theatre for those who have stars in their eyes for the West End, three dance groups which encompass modern and ballroom choreography. Orchestra, beginner’s guitars and keyboards are other activities which attract students from both primary and secondary schools.
